Moving forward... The Project is alive...

06/04/2026

Our ongoing project in Borås, Sweden focuses on helping adolescents build the skills, confidence, and networks they need for meaningful social inclusion and integration. Over the past months, we have established meet‑ups, mentoring circles, and collaboration breanstorming with participants as well as local starkholders.  The aim is to encourage the taget population of the project to take advantage of the creative safe spaces we are identifying and creating to further their growth is areas of interest. The goals is also to help our participants develop a sense of belonging in their neighborhoods.

We are also tracking progress through feedback sessions and simple evaluation tools. Early feedback reports show increased interest in participation in activities at gymnasium level and professional education levels with a focus on sustainable career orientation.

In the next phase, we plan to continue our push towards expanding our outreach, strengthing partnerships with municipal services, and co‑design new activities directly with the youth to ensure the project remains relevant, inclusive, and sustainable.

Key areas of progress include:

  • Intellectual input: We are working with experienced intellectuals on our board and volunteers with intercultural perspectives to improve our approach towards integration as a tool for social development and proactive social inclusion. We have become more aware of the closer correlation between the need to attain sustainability through employment or studies and being socially accepted as an integral part of the local society. We are aiming to work towards reducing stereotypes and social distance.
  • Practical support: We provide guidance on navigating schools, youth services, and leisure opportunities in Borås, making it easier for young people to access existing resources. Feedback given on time is essential.
  • Youth leadership: participants are now co‑facilitating sessions, contributing ideas, and acting as role models.

As we move forward, we will continue to document outcomes, share good practices with partners in Borås, and invite more adolescents to shape the direction of the project so that social inclusion becomes a lived reality, not just a goal.
